The Cellar Restaurant superb, contemporary Australian fare with the influence of European traditions, presented in a simple, uncomplicated manner. 

Some of the pubs in Cessnock have excellent value dining. Well worth a visit is The Australia Hotel for massive steaks. Amigos for Mexican dishes and upstairs in the Wentworth Hotel.  Also in the main street is Al-Oi Thai (tel. 02 4990 8666).
