Balloon Safaris conducts hot air balloon flights above the Hunter Valley seven days a week all year round.  Spring, Summer and Autumn generally provide us with the most reliable flying weather but we also have some beautiful balloon flights in Winter.

We meet at the Peterson’s Champagne House approximately 45 minutes before sunrise.  This allows us enough time for a safety briefing, transfers to our launch site and be in the air at sunrise.  We only fly in the morning as this is when the winds are generally at their calmest and provide the ideal flying environment. During the day the earth heats up and often the wind speeds will increase and the possibility of thermal activity is increased which is not suitable for ballooning.

In the middle of summer we can meet as early as 5am and in winter it can be as late as 6:30am.  The exact meeting time of your balloon ride will be decided the night before your flight when you will be asked to call our check-in line.  This will be decided by the pilot based on sunrise time and the weather forecast.
